The Beginning
Back in 2010, Nexus Revamped was born. It was one of the first projects I took on. Live wallpapers blew my mind and I really wanted to customise one of the stock Android live wallpapers. So I embarked on a journey to learn how to write live wallpapers and honestly, it was a game-changer for me. This little live wallpaper app set the foundation for my career in software development and was the flagship product of Stealthcopter—my one-man coding adventure.
The Challenge
Building a live wallpaper app might seem straightforward, but it’s far from it. The challenge? Making it as smooth as butter without gobbling up your battery like it’s Thanksgiving dinner. After endless cups of coffee and hours lost to coding, Nexus Revamped hit the Google Play Store. And it hit it big.
It’s a hit
To my surprise it had a great reception! I clearly wasn’t the only one with a craving for customization. Your feedback and the community’s reception have always been the driving force behind each update. It was fulfilling to know that my app could tick off the “personalization” box for so many people. It has now gained over 5 million downloads. It blows my minds that code I’ve written has run on over 5,000,000 devices.
- Google banned it twice for who knows what, but it was reinstated upon appeal each time.
What Makes Nexus Revamped Special
It’s all about giving you the freedom to make the live wallpaper truly yours. I’ve always aimed to set Nexus Revamped apart with its extensive customization options. The app now has so many settings; you can tailor it to be as unique as you are.
The Hiatus
Life happens, and Nexus Revamped took a backseat for a while. I began to focus on both my personal life and my career. But it has always held a special place in my heart and my mind. It was quite embrassing to see that the last update was in July 2016, meaning no updates for over 7 years.

So here we are, after years of silence, bringing it back from the depths of obsolescence.
The 2023 Comeback
This isn’t just an update; it’s a rebirth. Nexus Revamped is now fully compatible with the latest Android versions.
The code, honestly, it was amazing it ever worked.
It has been rewritten in Kotlin, optimized for better CPU performance, memory leaks fixed, and the custom themes have been revamped (see what I did there?), and I’ve squashed an incredible number of annoying bugs. You can look forward to endless customization options—seriously, the sky’s the limit.
The Future
I’ve got plans, big plans. More themes, more customization options, and possibly some new interactive features. Got suggestions? Shoot ’em my way; I’m all ears.
Your Part
Enjoying the new update? Spread the word! Reviews and shares make all the difference in the world. And remember, Nexus Revamped requires zero permissions and has zero ads. It’s pure, unadulterated wallpaper goodness.
